Tailored To Fit

Skirt: vintage (similar style) - Blouse: American Apparel -
Heels: Steve Madden 'Grettta' - Necklace: Zara

This skirt is very dear to me, as my grandmother made it for my mother many years ago. Now, my mother doesn't wear it anymore and my grandmother tailored the skirt so that it would fit me. It's always funny to see how items from the past can be so current: floral print (check!), accordion pleats (check!) and midi length (check!)... The skirt was made to be combined with a blouse of the same fabric and print, but I decided to leave them separate and opt for this orange AA shirt instead to create some contrast.

I love those special items that you get from your mum's closet! They really can be the best. And good choice to pair with the orange top - such a gorgeous colour combo! :)

This skirt is not only beautiful, but it has a great story! I always say that I'm a fan of family vintage and I love discover great pieces hidden in my parents' closet.

What an incredibly special piece - my favourite vintage items are always the ones that come from my mom (or grandma's) closet :) It's really amazing how very on-trend this skirt is, too, it just goes to show how fashion is circular! I love that you paired the blue skirt with an orange blouse, the contrast of the two colours is absolutely beautiful. It was great to catch up with the on the weekend, and I can't wait to see how you style your swap item!

Go K├Ąte :)!

That's so awesome that your grandmother made it for you momma and it was passed down to you. It's such am amazing dress. I love the drop waist detail and of course the pleats. That necklace adds a great pop as well. :)
